Dear Customers of Upper Cumberland Gas Utility District:
Welcome! - Effective Thursday, October 23, 2014, Middle Tennessee Natural Gas Utility District, (MTNG) and Upper Cumberland Gas Utility District, (UCGUD) have merged to better, more efficiently serve you, our customer. Our mission is to support the growth of the communities we serve by providing safe, reliable, and competitive natural gas service. Your lower rates from MTNG will take effect immediately and your first bill under these rates will arrive in November.
We look forward to serving your energy needs with America's premium energy product, natural gas, and supporting you and your communities together. We will maintain the current UCGUD office at 997 Woodland Circle, Crossville for service applications, bill payment and other services. Our office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. New to you, we will begin stocking our line of gas logs, grills, space heaters, water heaters, ranges, and laundry appliances at this location, and we "Install and Service Everything We Sell". Our normal services will also be available to you from our existing MTNG office located at 348 Old Jamestown Highway, Crossville.

CHANGES IN BILL DUE DATES
As a result of the merger, our customers' monthly due dates will change. The new due dates for December are listed below:
- Chestnut Hill, Crab Orchard, and Peavine Road Area - December 9th
- Fairfield Glade Area - December 11th
- Highway 127 North area - December 19th
- Deer Creek and Genesis Road Area - December 27th
ONLINE BILL PAYMENT CUSTOMERS
Customers that normally pay their gas bills on the UCGUD online bill pay site will no longer be able to do so after November 15th. New online bill payment instructions will be included with the first MTNG billing statement.
BUDGET BILLING CUSTOMERS
MTNG offers a Levelized Billing Program instead of a Budget Billing Program. With Levelized Billing, customer bills will vary month to month, but by no more than 10%. Levelized Billing is designed to reduce the customers' higher monthly bills while preventing the need for a reconciling month. This means the outstanding amount owed or credit amount will be significantly reduced in the event they disconnect from gas service or decide to be removed from the Levelized Billing Program at a later date. Also, it prevents our customers from receiving an extremely high bill during a reconciling month as was true with Budget Billing. Altogether, it's a better solution for our customers.
Current UCGUD Budget Billing Program customers have been automatically enrolled in MTNG's Levelized Billing Program. Upon enrollment in Levelized Billing, the previous Budget Billing outstanding amount owed or credit amount has been automatically added to your account balance. If you are a current Budget Billing customer and choose not to participate in the Levelized Billing Program, please contact your local MTNG office to be removed from this billing option.
GENESIS ROAD AND DEER CREEK CUSTOMERS
Due to the change in billing systems, some accounts in the Genesis Road and the Deer Creek area will have more than 32 days on the first billing cycle with MTNG. These locations were last read on October 20th and will be read on Wednesday, December 3rd which will make this billing period contain 44 days.
